Bridal and Decor Editorial in Solomon Gardens

This creative happened a little over a year ago. The weather was as cold as we are having today plus wind!

The story behind this photo shoot is very simple: few wedding vendors of Greater Moncton Area (including myself) got together and decided to dedicate their time and talent to creating something special and different from the ordinary. And so we did.

We thank Wedding Bells for featuring us:

Tom & Adel's Wedding Album

This wedding will remain very memorable for me for many different reasons: beautiful couple of martial artists, classical car, cake cutting with a sword, groom rocking his guitar on Casino NB's stage.

One other reason is Tom&Adel's wedding album, because it's the biggest album I have ever created - 11"x14" with 60 pages.

Here is a selection of the album's spreads followed by an image of the actual album.

Hope you enjoy!

Decor Editorial for Perfect Wedding Magazine + Behind the scenes video.

This is by far one of the biggest productions I had the pleasure of working on in my short photographic career.

When the creative director of Unico Decor Inc. Jason Roy invited me to team up with him to create images for the Fall-Winter issue of Perfect Wedding Magazine, I agreed right away.
The theme of our decor editorial was asian wedding. Of course, being mainly a portrait photographer, I decided to add a little fashion twist to the decor editorial by including a model.

To create these images we teamed up with really amazing wedding vendors in our area. Being part of this project was a truly fantastic experience for me. I've worked with most of the people in our creative team before, so during the photo shoot I had total peace of mind and confidence in their talent and was able to concentrate on the shooting part.

Make sure to check out the behind the scenes video with our interviews.
Hope you enjoy it!

Gisele & Michael. An Intimate Backyard Wedding.

I decided to post an entire wedding album instead of showing only the best spreads. I would like to show to my future couples how a full wedding story unfolds, the flow of the album and how we approach shooting and designing a wedding album in general.
I like to keep my album designs as clean and as simple as possible, avoiding complicated collages which result in a visual mess on a spread.

We really enjoyed working with Gisele and Michael on their wedding day. Due to heavy rain the day before the wedding we decided to cancel the other outdoor location and stay at the house. This gave  us a lot of time for formal portraits. It was really interesting experience for me as a photographer to search for and bring out Gisele and Michael's personalities both as individuals and as a couple.

Mary&Matt's Wedding Album

Most favourite and most exciting part for all of our couples - is designing their album! It involves going through catalogs, picking cover materials, choosing spines, name imprinting options, presentation boxes etc.

I invite you to look inside of an album created for Mary and Matt.

It's a 10"x13" Fine Art wedding album featuring delicious deep red Gramercy leather cover. The cover made perfect match for the wedding's color theme.

We placed one image opening in the centre and put name and date imprinted with silver right under it.
Premium packaging includes stitched black leather Presentation Box.

Beautiful Portraits - Anywhere, Anytime. Krista & Lynden's Wedding Preview.

Here are a couple of portraits of Krista and Lynden from their summer wedding. They are one of the sweetest and madly-in-love couples I ever worked with.
We created these portraits while taking refuge from the noon August sun under Gunningsville bridge in Riverview, NB.

Scenic locations are, of course, nice to have in your wedding album, but if time is of the essence and for some reason you didn't plan enough time for your formals, it's ok too. And even though I had about 2 hours dedicated to formals with Krista and Lynden, I just wanted to show to couples, who are planning on getting married in summer, that with proper photographic skills beautiful images can be created anywhere and anytime.

Let's face it, that in our area we don't have a lot of high end venues or other classy locations (I hear people complain about it all the time, and I'm one of them), so we have to use our creativity and work with what we have. In my opinion location must come secondary. It must compliment both of you, and not compensate for lack of something else. When I photograph you, I want to see what's in your eyes, I want to show your mood, your thoughts and your chemistry between each other on your wedding day through your body language, and not just where the photos were taken.

Mary&Matt's Wedding preview. Saint John, NB

I can't think of better reward for us than being invited back to a family to photograph a wedding of another child.
When Mary and Matt invited me to photograph their day after I photographed Mary's sister's Katie wedding, I was really touched.

While their wedding album is still at works, here is a preview of what went on.

After I received "The Wedding Album of the Year"award for Katie's album, and before Mary and Matt's wedding, deep in my mind I was thinking that I need to photograph this wedding better, I have to do a better job, and that's how ended up in competition with myself. Again! They say you are only as good as your last wedding. So, did I pull it off? We'll see...

To be continued...

Rokaya&Chris. Destination Wedding. Paradisus Resort, Varadero, Cuba.

This past March I was invited to photograph Rokaya&Chris's wedding. For location of their wedding they chose Paradisus Resort and Spa in Varadero, Cuba (makes me want to go back just by typing the name).
I spent entire week with the couple, their family and closest friends, and I brought back a tonne of images. I'll be posting more images from our casual sessions before the wedding next time, and for now, here are just highlights of the wedding day.

When I hear "destination wedding", the first image that pops into my mind is a sunny day with deep blue sky and a bride and groom laying on golden sand with their wedding clothes completely trashed. But that would have been too easy, and that wasn't the case of our wedding. Stormy clouds and wind is what we had to deal with, but neither I, nor the couple or the guests complained about it. So, this is another example that no weather disaster can ruin the magic of a wedding day, and most of the time it will make it even more remarkable.

The Wedding Album of the Year Award. PPOC Convention, Halifax 2012

I just got back from my first PPOC national convention which was hosted by Halifax, NS and I must say that it has been amazing 5 days for me. It was very educational and inspiring experience.
I was happy to meet many other colleagues from across Canada and hopefully future friends.

And I thought that it could't get any better until the award banquet night, which made this convention especially remarkable for me - my wedding album "KATIE & JESSE", which received the reward of "Merit" at this year's image salon,  also received "The Wedding Album of the Year" award!

Thank you PPOC!

P.S. Complete album design is on the website

Danielle & Marty. 12"x12" Soho Book.

I'm approaching a 2 year mark of being in business of wedding photography full time (or 3 years in total).

This past year I realized how I want to photograph your wedding and what product I will offer to you.

If you ask me, what my favourite moment of entire wedding experience is, I'll tell you: it's when a Fedex guy hands me a box, and I know that there's a fruit of 6 months of my labour inside of it - a wedding album. I start unpacking. I see my heart beating through my shirt and feel my hands sweating inside of cotton gloves. I open presentation box and sense harsh smell of premium leather cover. I start flipping pages and aroma of fresh ink adds to the mix. I'm nervous. I examine every image for details, tones and colour reproduction, check lamination, leather and binding. Everything is perfect.... exhale.... That's my favourite moment.

I'm writing all this because I'm hoping that I can show you how much thoughts, passion and care I put into my albums, why I want you to have it and why all of my collections now include album.

It's been over a year since I met Danielle and Marty. Our Engagement Session lasted 5 hours, I just couldn't get enough of this couple. The session allowed me to break the ice between us, and to see how they behave in front of the camera and what the best way to photograph them. They were stunning on the wedding day and photographs were all about glamour and gloss.

Here are some images of the album and few of its spreads.
It's 12"x12" Soho Book,  White Gramercy Premium Leather Cover, contains 17 spreads, 2 optional apertures in the cover, and optional Premium Leather Presentation box.

Javier & Danizza. Engagement session during wedding.

I met Danizza and Javier during my trip to Venezuela this past summer, where I photographed Jennifer and Tony's wedding.

They just got engaged and asked me to take a few shots of them together during reception, which I was happy to. And as it often happens to me, few shots turn into a major photo shoot, and I wish we had more time, but we had amazing wedding to enjoy (which we did by the way).

Marie-Lyne & Jamie's Wedding.

This fall was kind of busy for me and few more wedding are on the way to the blog.
This post features images from Marie-Lyne and Jamie's wedding.
I did their engagement session earlier, in the past spring (see it HERE), so shooting the wedding felt easy for all of us, and for the most part of it they didn't even pay a lot of attention to me, and that's exactly how I like it.  Congratulations, Guys!
